The Art of Two Gardens: Ornamental and Productive

This garden is thoughtfully designed as two distinct spaces, gracefully separated by a bespoke wooden slatted screen and archway. The front section, a serene and flower-filled haven visible from the house, features a winding path that leads to a peaceful swing seat, inviting quiet contemplation. The Chelmer Valley clay pavers beautifully complement the cottage garden planting.

Hidden beyond this tranquil display lies a highly productive fruit and vegetable garden, complete with an Alton Greenhouse and robust sleeper raised beds. This practical zone also includes a substantial shed, custom-built on-site by the landscapers.

A Flourishing Sanctuary: Bridging Beauty and Bounty

For a couple eager to transition from extensive produce growing to a more abundant floral landscape, this garden masterfully integrates both pursuits. The front portion, visible from the house, offers a vibrant tapestry of flowers. This purposeful planting scheme is full and vibrant, ensuring captivating year-round interest while cleverly disguising the garden office wall.

A meandering path invites exploration and provides seamless access to the garden office and dedicated vegetable beds. Existing elements, an arbour and a garden bench, are thoughtfully placed to perfectly capture the sun and shade, while a new birdbath offers a welcome haven for local wildlife.

At the rear, a productive zone features a small greenhouse, raised beds for select vegetable growing, and a couple of fruit trees. Espalier fruit trees elegantly divide the space, strategically screening the productive area as they mature.
